M26 Pendants, Bars and Suspended Forms

M26 pendants and bars add a lower lighting layer to the rail. The range includes linear bars, trumpet and cylindrical pendants, flexible suspended forms and globes. Choose the form around the object or activity below.

Start from the furniture line

A suspended body should have a clear relationship with a table, counter or seating group. Mark that relationship before locating the rail solely by the ceiling grid. Put the furniture in its normal occupied position and show any extension or movement that could leave a pendant hanging over circulation. A bar following a counter edge creates a different relationship from a single hanging globe over a small table. Use the actual chosen YZ-M26 body drawing rather than a generic pendant dot when checking alignment. The rail can remain a continuous architectural line while the lowered fittings gather around specific furniture zones beneath it. Avoid allowing an unrelated ceiling joint to dictate every hanging position if that makes the light miss the activity. Keep furniture references in the final order drawing so a site adjustment to the rail does not silently detach the pendants from the spaces they were intended to serve.

02

Compare a bar with a pendant

A linear bar extends the horizontal composition, while a hanging body introduces a vertical accent. Select the form that supports the room's architecture and task. The YZ-M26-10L, 20L and 30L bars provide one visual direction, whereas the MD90 trumpet and 6DX straight pendant create more localized hanging elements. Draw those alternatives against the same table elevation to see whether the intended emphasis should run along the furniture or mark a particular point. Ask for the installed dimensions and optical information for each candidate before comparing useful coverage. A longer-looking object is not automatically a suitable substitute for a group of pendants, and a pendant's sculptural presence does not establish its task-lighting contribution. Include neighboring ceiling fixtures in the view to avoid competing horizontal and vertical rhythms. Keep the accepted form description beside its full model so procurement preserves the architectural decision.

03

Review the drop in section

A pendant position that looks balanced on plan may obstruct a view or compete with another hanging feature. Use room elevations to compare the proposed suspension level. Show the line of sight between people seated across the table, the path toward a doorway and the relationship to any window behind the fitting. A decorative body can appear pleasantly centered from above while hanging directly in that view. Request the assembly information for the selected M26 suspended form before settling the drop, including the connection above the visible body. Check the lowest point against the furniture and occupied circulation rather than using the rail height as the only dimension. If the table may move, draw its alternate position and decide whether the pendant still belongs there. Retain the agreed level on the installation drawing so a convenient cable length does not determine the final room composition.

04

Treat flexible forms as luminaires

The suspended soft form provides light as a fitting within the arrangement. Plan its route and support separately from the rigid rail that carries the system. YZ-M26-6US is the flexible suspended luminaire in this selection; its visible luminous route should therefore be drawn as a fitting, with the carrying rail identified above it. Ask for the appropriate body, connection and support information before sketching a free shape that the actual assembly may not reproduce. Include the lowest portion of the curve in an elevation and check its relationship with doors and people moving below. Keep it visually distinct from nonluminous textile track descriptions elsewhere in the product range. During a sample review, assess the hanging shape at the intended level rather than laying it flat on a table. The softness of the form should remain compatible with a legible and serviceable installed arrangement.

05

Use globes with a consistent rhythm

Repeated spherical bodies can establish a local zone. Decide whether they should align with furniture or form an offset composition around a specific activity. The suspended globes YZ-M26-DG150, DE150 and DM150 need their own body descriptions beside the model identifiers, especially where a quotation includes more than one globe direction. Check the group in elevation from the entrance and from seated positions, because apparent overlaps can make a spacious plan look crowded. Keep the rail attachments and hanging lengths visible in that drawing rather than showing only the spheres. Around a dining table, compare the group with the occupied chair positions and the sightline across place settings. Ask for the complete installed dimensions before setting the final arrangement. A consistent rhythm can come from a clear relationship to the furniture without requiring every globe to hang at an identical point in the ceiling grid.

06

Check the complete assembly

Request suspension, connection and body information together for each selected form. The visible hanging element is only one part of the installed arrangement. A box containing the decorative body does not explain how it joins the M26 rail or how the suspension is adjusted and retained under the supplied instructions. Ask the proposal to identify those components alongside the 10L, 20L or 30L bar, MD90 trumpet, 6DX straight form, 6US flexible form or selected globe. Include the actual electrical information in the complete 48V fitting schedule and have the designer review the combined load. Draw the connection above the hanging body where it remains visible from the room. Before closing procurement, reconcile every lowered fitting with its required assembly pieces. That check is especially useful when several suspended forms share one rail and the visual brief could otherwise conceal different connection requirements.

07

Prepare an elevation-led inquiry

Include intended furniture positions and the desired appearance of the lowered light layer. Ask for the corresponding luminaire schedule and technical sheets for the selected M26 forms. A useful enquiry contains a ceiling plan plus a section through the table or counter, with the rail, hanging body and lowest point all shown. Identify whether the request concerns a horizontal bar, trumpet, straight pendant, flexible 6US or suspended globe instead of asking for a general pendant package. Note views that must remain clear and furniture that may move after installation. Where body proportions remain uncertain, prioritize a sample of the form most likely to dominate the room. Keep practical illumination requirements beside the sculptural intent so a decorative selection does not leave the activity below under-served. The resulting quotation should be traceable to an elevation of the room, rather than a collection of attractive isolated product images.

Bring the selection into the room: M26 Pendants, Bars and Suspended Forms

Use the furniture elevation to choose among M26 bars, pendants, the flexible 6US and suspended globes. Mark the complete hanging assembly and its lowest point, preserve the exact model descriptions, and show views that need to stay clear. Include the selected fittings in the 48V system schedule. A sample review at the intended height can then settle both the lowered composition and the practical light over the table or counter.
